OUR STORY
"The family printers that has three generations and over a 100 years of experience between them"
Here at Norwood Press we are celebrating 75 years of being in business. Started in 1951 by Leslie Savage, it was then past onto his son David Savage and after retirement his two sons Andrew and James Savage now continue. Originally starting off at 18a Applegate Street, Leicester, then moving to 68 Hinckley Road, Leicester and in having spent over 50 years working from 4 Cropston Road, Anstey, we had out grown our premises and in 2007 moved to our present premises in Moore Road, Ellistown. Having started in letterpress printing back in the 50's, progressing through the decades investing into litho printing where today we are running the latest Heidelberg SM74 8 colour press. We have built our business on good old fashioned values, which to this day we still pride ourselves with. We would like to thank you for taking the time to look through our brochure and hope to build a friendship with you and your company.

INVESTING IN OUR COMPANY
Our latest investment back in April of 2014 see's us running the latest Heidelberg 8 colour printing press. Fitted with full colour management software, making sure your job is printed perfect every time. The design suite runs all the latest design software and we can take your ideas and turn them into professional designs. We also have an array of finishing equipment meaning your job is all done in-house from to design to completion.
As part of our ongoing commitment to quality, efficiency, and growth, we continually reinvest in the latest technology. In 2019, we strengthened our production capabilities with the installation of a Xerox Xerox C60 digital printer, allowing us to deliver faster turnaround times and consistently high print standards. With customer demand continuing to rise, we further expanded in 2023 by investing in a Xerox Versant 280 digital press. This latest upgrade enables us to handle increased volumes while maintaining exceptional quality, ensuring our customers benefit from reliable service, sharper results, and greater flexibility as we continue to grow.
ENVIRONMENT
"We don't just talk about the environment, we make a difference"
At Norwood Press we take the environment very seriously. After being in business for the last 75 years, we have taken steps to make sure we don't just talk about the environment, we make a difference.
Back in 2010 we changed the way we made our printing plates. We now make all of our plates without using any chemistry or water. We estimate we have saved over 4000kwh of power and over 204,000 litres of water. All of our waste paper, off cuts and plates are also recycled, leaving us very little in general waste.
Since installing our 24kW solar panel system in 2012, we’ve generated an estimated 310,000 kilowatt-hours of clean electricity, saving approximately £75,000–£90,000 in energy costs and preventing around 140 tonnes of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere. In the last two years alone, we’ve produced 44,400 kWh and saved over 20 tonnes of CO2. Combined with our continued investment in modern production equipment, this reflects our commitment to responsible growth — delivering high-quality print while actively reducing our environmental impact.
So if the environment is something you feel strongly about then using Norwood Press is a step in the right direction.
